El Paso Black Hall of Fame Mourns the Loss of Pioneer Estine Davis
The El Paso Black Hall of Fame and Black Business and Community Awards is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ms. Estine Davis, our distinguished Black El Paso Voice Living Legend Legacy and Legacy Business Leader of the Year for 2025.
Ms. Davis was a true pioneer and pillar of the Black business community in El Paso. Her life on the border serves as a powerful reminder that we too can create a legacy to be remembered. Her journey was a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and resolute dedication. She took immense pride in her longevity in the business world, making her a true inspiration to countless others.
Among her many profound contributions, she is celebrated as the founder of the Miss Black El Paso Pageant, an enduring institution that empowered young Black women and provided a vital platform for community visibility.
Crucially, while the pageant is on hiatus, it is set to return, ensuring that Ms. Davis’s visionary legacy continues to inspire the community for years to come.
Posthumous Hall of Fame Recognition
Ms. Davis was rightfully recognized during the 2025 awards ceremony. While set to be especially honored and recognized during the Hall of Fame Class of 2026, she will still be recognized posthumously during that ceremony for her monumental contributions.
It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce this special Hall of Fame recognition will now be bestowed posthumously during the ceremony in February. We are truly honored to be able to honor her legacy.
A Lasting Legacy
Ms. Davis touched many lives and will be remembered not just for her businesses, but for the powerful stories she shared, which illuminated the path for future Black leaders and entrepreneurs. She championed Black businesses and Black entrepreneurship with untiring commitment.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who benefited from her remarkable legacy.
Her spirit, her work, and her legacy will continue to resonate within the El Paso community.
